Specialist hormonal, metabolic & weight management
by Dr Syed Kashif Hussain Kazmi FRCP
Expert management of thyroid, pituitary and adrenal disorders, complex type 1 and type 2 diabetes, insulin pump therapy, CGM, GLP-1 receptor agonists (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy), PCOS, male hypogonadism, and all major endocrine conditions.
Our endocrinology service covers three deeply related specialties under a single consultant: general endocrinology, diabetes management, and obesity medicine. This integrated approach allows comprehensive metabolic assessment and coordinated treatment — avoiding fragmented care across multiple providers.
Every patient is seen personally by Dr Syed Kashif Hussain Kazmi — a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians with training at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and on the Specialist Register in both Ireland and the UK.
"Endocrinology, diabetes and obesity are three faces of the same metabolic story — we treat all three together."
Most endocrine conditions exist on a metabolic continuum. Insulin resistance drives
not only type 2 diabetes, but obesity, PCOS, dyslipidaemia, and cardiovascular
risk. Thyroid disease affects weight, cardiac rhythm, and bone density. Treating
each in isolation misses the wider picture.
Our service provides a genuinely integrated metabolic assessment — considering the
hormonal, glycaemic, and weight-related dimensions of every patient's health —
and coordinates with Dr Kalyar's cardiology service when cardiometabolic risk
requires a combined approach.

Comprehensive thyroid assessment from initial diagnosis through to long-term management, including specialist thyroid imaging interpretation.
Assessment of pituitary function, hormone deficiencies, and pituitary lesions, with coordination of specialist neurological and surgical input where required.
Evaluation and management of adrenal gland pathology, including incidentally discovered adrenal masses and functional adrenal syndromes.
Specialist management of calcium and bone metabolism disorders, vitamin D deficiency, and related conditions affecting skeletal health.
Expert evaluation and management of testosterone deficiency and male reproductive endocrine disorders.
Assessment of polycystic ovary syndrome and related metabolic complications, alongside other female endocrine presentations.
Expert management of type 1 diabetes including advanced insulin technologies, CGM optimisation, and management of hypoglycaemia unawareness.
Comprehensive management of type 2 diabetes with a focus on cardiovascular risk reduction, renal protection, and modern evidence-based pharmacotherapy.
Specialist assessment of atypical, gestational and rare forms of diabetes requiring expert endocrinological input.
Expert assessment and optimisation of the full range of diabetes devices, including CGM systems, insulin pumps, and closed-loop technology.
Dr Kazmi has prescribed and personally monitored GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy in over 3,500 patients in the past year alone — one of the most extensive clinical GLP-1RA portfolios in Ireland. This depth of experience spans initiation, dose titration, tolerability management, side-effect monitoring, and long-term structured follow-up across Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Saxenda. All prescribing is evidence-based and consultant-supervised at every visit.
Comprehensive, medically supervised weight management combining pharmacotherapy with metabolic assessment and structured follow-up.
Comprehensive evaluation of cardiometabolic risk factors in overweight and obese patients, integrated with cardiac risk assessment where needed.
Specialist endocrine input for patients considering or recovering from bariatric surgery.
A broad range of hormonal, metabolic and endocrine conditions seen at our clinic.
Diagnosis, levothyroxine optimisation, Hashimoto's management, subclinical disease, and persistent symptoms despite standard levothyroxine therapy — specialist review and evidence-based discussion of treatment options where clinically appropriate.
Graves' disease, toxic multinodular goitre, anti-thyroid drug management and radioiodine counselling.
Complex management, CGM, insulin pump therapy, closed-loop systems, hypoglycaemia unawareness.
Insulin initiation, SGLT2i, GLP-1 RA, cardiometabolic risk optimisation and complex glycaemic management.
Medical weight management with GLP-1 therapy (Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy), metabolic assessment and structured follow-up.
